Drinks at Menger Hotel Bar (near Emily Morgan): A rare vintage! Serving up innovative cocktails and cuisine with a generous helping of Lone Star history on the side, it is easy to see why the legendary Menger Bar was voted one of the Top 10 Most Historic Bars in the United States. Built in 1887 as an exact replica of London’s House of Lords Pub, the Menger Bar does not just feel authentic—it is! In 1898, Colonel Leonard Wood and his lieutenant-colonel (and future president of the United States), Theodore Roosevelt, set up an enlistment table at the Menger Bar where they recruited over 1,250 men to form the Rough Riders, the most popular volunteer regiment in the history of the world.  Thank you Saundra Thaxton for gathering all of the information for the places we visited.

The Menger Hotel Bar
Inside the bar there's a balcony overlooking the bar where we went to drink.  Nick, Chuck and Roger.
At the end of the bar is a display case of articles belonging to Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders.
Fitz, Tom and Ken are excited to be here.
Jim calls this picture "Three Marines and a Moose".
Greg and Doc taking it in.
Shilin came along to make sure Greg didn't get us in trouble.  Thank you.
Roger, Tom, Ken, Ron, Jack and Jim all claiming to see a ghost but none of them can agree on the description of it.
After dinner on the last night of the reunion, of which I have no pictures, we first had a raffle for $100 and a separate raffle for a free night at The Emily Morgan Hotel, of which I also do not have any pictures.  What I do have is Tom taking bids for items the marines brought from home to raise money for future reunions.  I believe this is a really nice pocket watch that Tom is holding up.
