The first full day was open so Leslye, Lauren, Tyler and myself visited the Parthenon. I don't know what everyone else did?
As the personification of victory. Nike was often associated with Athena. The Athenians believed that it was the goddess Athena who had protected them from annihilation and granted them victory over the Persian Empire in 480 B.C.E.. The image of a triumphant Athena being crowned by Nike was also symbolic of the pre-eminence of Athens among Greek city - states. The winged goddess Nike hovers in Athena's outstretched right hand preparing to crown her with the laurel wreath.

Next we went to the Johnny Cash Museum. Really enjoyed it.

That evening we went downtown to the Wildhorse Saloon for dinner.
The best part of this trip was the bus ride into and out of town. We were encouraged to sing along. Click on each of the two pictures above.
